Job Introduction

Our Independent Examiner’s play a pivotal role in the compliance of our Lifting equipment and as such you’ll visit our branches offering thorough examinations of fleeted lifting equipment in line with LOLER and PUWER regulations

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out thorough examinations of all company and customer owned lifting and material handling equipment, ensuring they reach the required standard throughout the branch network and on customer sites
  • Ensure all items that have been made available for examination are examined
  • Guarantee Brandon Hire Station locations have sufficient areas of storage/segregation for lifting and material handling equipment
  • Complete annual calibration of workshop tools in allocated branches
  • Thorough examination and calibration of all lifting testing equipment in lifting specialist branches (test gantries, load cells and Verniers etc.)
  • Annual thorough examination of warehouse racking in allocated branches
  • Willingness to undertake training as required to ensure safety of branch facilities going forward (e.g. roller shutters)
  • Ensuring records of all reports are made available to the business as and when required

What We’re Looking For

  • Sound understanding of compliance and HSE regulations
  • LEEA Foundation Certificate – Essential 
  • Willingness to complete further LEEA certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to forge, develop and maintain sound working relationships
  • Practical knowledge/experience of general lifting and material handling equipment
  • Practical knowledge/experience of low level access machines – Preferable
  • Full LEEA qualifications (or similar, LEG and LMM diplomas) – Preferable
  • Valid driving licence
